Lisa G. Wells Past President's Literacy Award

The Lisa G. Wells Past President's Award is presented annually to an individual who is a literacy advocate and has shown exceptional understanding and support of literacy service to children. Any individual who has advocated to increase awareness, support, and funding for literacy needs and efforts in North Florida is eligible.

This award is named in memory of Lisa G. Wells, an educator in Duval County for over 30 years, who touched the lives of children, teachers, parents, and colleagues in so many ways. A Past President of the Duval County Reading Council, she was known for her expertise and dedication in the field of literacy education, her quick wit, bright smile, and love for children. Her memory endures and we celebrate Lisa's contributions to the North Florida community through this award.
