In September 2018, the organization legally changed its name to Duval Literacy Association (DLA) to align with the organizations with which it is affiliated, Florida Literacy Association (FLA) and International Literacy Association (ILA), and to more fully represent the scope of work addressed by professionals who teach reading and writing.
DLA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit professional organization of educators in the Jacksonville, FL area whose mission is to support literacy leaders and teachers in schools and promote literacy throughout the community.
